La Ronde des Villages

One of the biggest walks in France

La Ronde des Villages is a major event in the Pays de Fénelon area, which gathers more than 4000 walkers and 600 volunteers on a 74 mile walk. Go away for a weekend to discover the area, whilst going through 19 different communes and villages in the Périgord Noir. The walk can be done at your own pace all in a friendly atmosphere, whilst respecting the environment.

La Ronde des Villages is a walk that takes place every year in October and is organized by the Tourist Office of the Pays de Fénelon area. On this walk, come and discover ThePérigord Noir like you have never seen it before ! On 78 miles of hiking paths , you will cross through 19 communes in the Pays de Fénelon area, where you will learn all about the different villages and their renowned craftmanship.

Cultural signs will help you discover each villages history and will tell you the stories about of their architectural, historical and cultural heritage. It is in no case a race, so you are free to walk at your own pace! You can even obtain a certificate stating the number of miles that you walked!

For a whole weekend of walking in The Pays de Fénelon area, discover unique cultural and culinary heritage.

Organisation

Throughout the event, each village offers a refreshment stand and a warm meal for lunch (onion soup and duck breasts).

From 3 o’clock in the afternoon, every 10 minutes buses go from the villages to take you back to the village that you set off from.

This event gathers more than 600 volunteers, who will give you a warm welcome in each of the villages. It is the best opportunity to meet and converse with the passionate locals, who are truly in love with their region !
